Indications:
* baggy, puffy eyes
* dark under-eye circles
* fine lines and wrinkles
* tired look
How well do we all know the feeling of partying all night and waking up with the worst, puffy eyes ever? Or studying till early morning and looking like a zombie the next day? Or when you can’t sleep because your baby is teething? Or when you’re too stress to sleep or you’ve been crying all night and your face just shows it all wether you like it or not?
Whatever the reason may be I think we can all agree that baggy eyes and dark circles under your eyes are not the most attractive look. Not to mention if there is an important event or a big date coming up that you just want to look at your best! Luckily there is a quick solution to the tired look problem. I have experimented with a lot of different ingredients before I came up with a final version of this recipe.
Ingredients to use
A really great thing about these DIY ice pads is that you can fully customize them to your needs and current resources. If you have all of the ingredients, that’s great! But if you’re missing some, or all you have is just one or two of them, please don’t let it stop you from making the Ice Pads with whatever resources you have. Each of these active ingredients works beautifully on its own way to reduce the swelling, redness, fine lines and tired look of your eyes. I purposely didn’t include the exact amounts of the ingredients. I change it accordingly to my current needs (for example I’d put more baking soda for the dark circles, more rose water and cucumber for puffy eyes etc.). Or you can just mix equal amounts of the ingredients.
- Cotton pads
- Magnesium Oil
- Hyaluronic acid gel
- Aloe Vera gel
- Coconut oil
- Rose water
- Green coffee extract or oil (a few drops)
- Cucumber extract (read this article to learn how to make your own pure cucumber extract)
- Baking soda (just a sprinkle)
How to make it?
The making part is super easy. Just mix a sprinkle of baking soda in rose water until completely dissolved, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well until it forms a paste. Dip your cotton pads really well in the mixture, arrange your soaked pads on a sheet of a baking paper and freeze it. It usually takes about 20 min to be ready to use but if you don’t have that much time, even a couple of minutes will do.
I use my ice pads whenever I look tired or look beat up from stress and it always turns my look around 180 degrees! For a dark under-eye circles or baggy eyes I usually cut the pads in half and put the halves under my eyes for a few minutes. For puffy eyes (eye lids) I just use a whole patch on each eye.
